Join Dr Richard Hepworth-Young explores the maths behind prehistoric carved stone balls which have been discovered across the UK and Ireland

Carved stone balls are prehistoric objects that have been discovered across Britain and Ireland, but mainly in the north-east of Scotland. There are many theories about their purpose and significance, one of which they represent geometric objects:polyhedra.

In this talk we will explore the carved stone balls, the mathematics of polyhedra, and the question of whether the two are related.
