A Triad Approach to Teaching ESOL Maths

Redtree Business Suites Bridgeton 1st Oct 2.30pm-5.00pm Free

To celebrate Maths Week Scotland, we would like to invite you to another numeracy based ESOL training session!

Jenny Stacey will be joining us from Sheffield Hallam University to deliver this session on dealing with mixed ability ESOL and numeracy classes using her 'Triad Approach'.

This training aims to help ESOL tutors teaching maths related topics and will show the results of research that investigated the benefits of maths tuition for ESOL learners based on 5 years of data.

  • Get hands on with resources
  • Learn tips for classroom management
  • Discuss approaches to mixed levels of English language and/or maths skills

As well as developing our ESOL & Numeracy project, ESOL Scotland is looking to integrate a focus on numeracy into our general ESOL curriculum, as it is an area that is often overlooked in current ESOL learning materials. This training aims to help ESOL tutors teaching maths related topics, or ESOL tutors looking to incorporate a more thorough approach to numeracy in their general ESOL classes.
