Funding

Don’t let a lack of funds stop you from taking part in Maths Week Scotland. Apply for financial help through our Grants Fund.

Don't let a lack of funding hold you back from getting involved in Maths Week Scotland 2024! Got a great idea and need a boost to get started? We're able to support projects big and small to create a Maths Week Scotland with something for everyone.

We have two different funding opportunities available for Maths Week Scotland 2024 depending on the size of your project: Large Grants Fund and Small Grants Fund,

Large Grants Fund

The Maths Week Scotland Large Grants Fund is back offering grants of between £2,000 - £5,000 to support organisations, partnerships and charities to develop in-person events or digital activities for Maths Week Scotland 2025.

While it is preferred that activities take place during Maths Week Scotland (22 - 28 September 2025), this is not set in stone but it is a requirement that all projects be completed by 31 December 2025.

The final deadline for submission is 17:00 on Monday 2 June 2025.

Applications received will be reviewed and advised of outcome by Thursday 19 June 2025.

Download the application form and guidance document below. Please contact mathsweekscot@nms.ac.uk to apply.

PLEASE NOTE: Under new Scottish Government legislation, all successful grantees will be required to comply with the Fair Work First policy. If you do not comply, a grant cannot be awarded to you. Guidance for this can also be downloaded below, and successful grantees will be sent the relevant paperwork to complete.

Small Grants Fund

The Maths Week Scotland Small Grants Fund is a partnership between the Edinburgh Mathematical Society and the Glasgow Mathematical Journal Trust.

The Fund provides awards of either exactly £250 or £500 and is open to organisations, partnerships and individuals that require support to participate in, or to lead the development of activity for, Maths Week Scotland 2025 at local, regional and national level including: schools, early learning and childcare providers, local authorities, community and family learning providers, parent councils, colleges, universities and Third Sector organisations.
