University of Edinburgh Maths @ Doors Open Day 2024
Meet the mathematicians! What does it really mean to research maths, and how and why do people do it? Speak to our mathematicians about their work, learn about our university's illustrious mathematical history, and engage with props, demos, puzzles and games supported by the schools outreach team. Witness the one-of-a-kind magic of the 3D zoetrope: watch solid shapes change and animate before your eyes!
This is a drop-in event: tickets will not be required and visitors can come and go as they like. However, the 3D zoetrope exhibit will be ticketed; tickets will be free, but will only be available on the day.
The Nucleus is the new learning, teaching and social hub at the heart of the Kings Buildings campus and has transformed the student and staff experience. All kinds of activities will be taking place at the Nucleus on 28 September as part of Doors Open Day. Maths will be based in the Hawthorne Teaching Studio on Level 2. More information about the Nucleus Building is available via the link below.
