MWS Daily Challenge
Our Maths Week Scotland daily challenges were back for 2023! Each morning during Maths Week Scotland, a new puzzle set by the Scottish Mathematical Council was shared on BBC Bitesize.
Below we've shared a preview of the challenges from each day. You can find all the challenge details and videos at BBC Bitesize. Suitable for upper primary/ early secondary.
Challenge 1: Books and Magazines
Challenge 1 is all about sharing out boxes of magazines and books.
Challenge 2: Farmer's Weight
Challenge 2 is all about figuring out the weight of a farmer, his egg and his turkey.
Challenge 3: Dice
Challenge 3 is all about folding up nets to try and form cubes and dice.
Challenge 4: Shopping Spree
Challenge 4 is all about finding a mystery value from some given information.
Challenge 5: Triangles
Challenge 5 is all about trying to carefully count every triangle in a diagram full of them.
Challenge 7: Traffic Calming
Challenge 7 is all about calculating the speed of a journey.
