Christmas Number Doodles
Activity Type: Drawing
Best suited for: First Level and above / 5-7, 8-11, 12-15, 16+
Maths involved: number recognition, fun with numbers
Materials needed:
- Drawing paper
- Pens or pencils
Instructions
Sketch out the numbers 1 to 9 and get creative – what can you turn the numbers in to? Follow our ideas as a guide, or come up with your own.
This was a popular activity, so we ran it two years in a row. Suggestions include:
1 – candy cane or candle
2 – turkey or mitten
3 – holly sprig or sweetie
4 – Christmas tree or present
5 – Christmas wreath or bauble
6 – Santa or elf
7 – stocking or star
8 – snowman or penguin
9 – reindeer or mug with steaming hot drink
Afterwards, you can colour in your number doodles.
Taking it further
Go beyond number 9, and challenge yourself to come up with doodles for other numbers.
