Money Maths at Museum on the Mound

Museum on the Mound, Edinburgh 1st Jan-31st Dec All day Free

Best suited for P5-P7 pupils

We are excited to offer Maths versions of our popular money-themed schools workshops. These are entirely free of charge. They are best suited for P5-P7 pupils but can be adapted for young people of all ages. Our workshops have been designed to encourage pupils to think critically and creatively through exploration and discovery.

By participating in three hands-on activities, pupils will be able to apply their skills in a new context and build their confidence in using maths in real life situations. In What is Money? (also available as a free digital workshop), pupils will use their investigative, numeracy and measurement skills to explore different things people have used as money. In Heads and Tails, pupils will put their critical thinking skills to the test as they examine the design and security features of coins. In Kists and Keys, our collections, including £1,000,000, are used to spark conversation about value, some of the benefits and risks of using cards and how to keep money safe.

For further information and to make a booking, please e-mail us at info@museumonthemound.com. These workshops are available year round, but sessions are limited, so please book as early as possible.
