Collie Dog Maths Tales for Schools
Our online 'Collie Dog Maths Tales' sessions are being delivered as part of Maths Week.
In each session, we will join a different collie dog and go for a walk around the farm looking at different maths (and science and technology) along the way.
Each ‘Collie Math Tale’ session will look at real maths problems on the farm and will come with a downloadable information to support the online session.
The full line up of sessions is as follows:
- Wednesday 25 September (for Early& First Level): Join collie dog Pip and Alison for a walk around the farm and woodland looking at the trees and the crops on the farm
- Thursday 26 September (for Second Level): Join collie dog Sweep and owner Katherine for a walk around a farm as the lambs are prepared for market day
- Tuesday 1 October (for Early & First Level): Join Tweed the Border Collie and owner Fran for a walk to meet the hens on the farm
- Thursday 3 October (for Second Level): Join collie dog Gem and owner Shelia for a walk around the farm to find out more about the maths involved in looking after sheep
All sessions are free, but registration is required. Please visit the individual event entries via the links above, to sign up.
Delivered by RHET
There will also be a further session on Sunday 6 October at 9am, aimed at families: Join collie dog Jura and Emily at breakfast time to explore and learn how robots milk the cows. We will take a walk around the farm and discover more about the math behind your breakfast time milk!
