Kipper the Cat’s Maths Trail For Schools

Suitable for P6 & P7

Follow Kipper the Cat on this first fishing trip and discover how maths was used by fishermen and their communities in the past. With your class explore maths and museum objects through our fishy themed trail.

Pupils can work as individuals or in small groups and solve puzzles to help Kipper become the best fisherman he can be using the power of maths. The trail can be self-led by teachers or be led by our Learning and Engagement Officer. Additional activities including object handling or a tour are available on request.

Kipper’s Maths Trail is aimed at Primary 6 and 7 pupils. Teacher’s notes will be provided with the answers and tips to help with problem solving. The trail covers many learning outcomes including symmetry, measurement, money and time.

Cost: Pupils £4 each, Class Teacher free, Additional Adults £4 each. This can include additional activities such as a tour, or object handling session on request.
