Maths Money Marvels

Online 1st Jan-31st Dec All day Free

Best suited for children aged 8-11

Museum on the Mound is excited to offer a free, interactive digital workshop that brings money and maths to life. Pupils will use their investigative, numeracy and measurement skills to explore different things people have used as money around the world. Handling materials will be sent to you in advance to make the workshop as sensory and engaging as possible. This workshop is best suited for children aged 8-11. It lasts approximately 30 minutes and can be adapted to meet the needs and interests of your class. For further information and to make a booking, please e-mail us at info@museumonthemound.com. This free digital workshop is available year-round.

You can also check out our Maths Money Marvels videos, available on our YouTube channel. We discover how maths has been used to fight money crime. We explore probability through the fascinating history of Heads or Tails. In addition, we use our £1,000,000 to look at numeracy, measurement, percentages and value. These videos have been created to get young people talking enthusiastically about money and maths. Each video ends with activity suggestions to keep the conversation going.
