Halloween Maths Activities

With Halloween less than a week away, we've rounded up some of our spooky maths activities for you to try at home or in the classroom.
I-Spy Halloween Counting Puzzle
Are you ready for some spooky counting fun? We've created a seasonal activity sheet for you, to keep the kids busy in the run up to Halloween. How many of each of the symbols can you find?
Geometric Bat
Here's a simple but fun geometric puzzle activity to set up for kids, either as a non spooky alternative to Halloween or for bat lovers all year round. Cut out shapes from black paper and challenge kids to create a bat out of them.
Spooky Counting Books
Counting books are a great way to engage kids with maths at any time of year. Here we've shared three of our favourite spooky counting books for kids (though don't worry if your little ones are easily scared, they're not too spooky).

An Interview with Maisie Chan
To celebrate World Book Day, we’re thrilled to welcome back award-winning Glasgow-based author Maisie Chan. Last year, Maisie joined our Maths Tales programme to discuss her novel Danny Chung Does Not Do Maths and answer questions from enthusiastic pupils. We’ve followed up with Maisie for an exclusive interview, perfect for those who missed the session or had more burning questions.
