Stirling Sci Fest 23 header

Stirling Science Festival kicks off this week with the theme "Innovations: Past, Present and Future". There's plenty of maths inspired events in the programme, so we've had a browse and picked out some of our favourites. The main days of the festival are 11 – 14 October, but there are activities running through the whole month of October.

Money Matters

Join Maths Week Scotland favourites Museum on the Mound as they take their popular Money Matters workshop to Stirling Science Festival. Explore the properties of the metals in our coins, learn how they are made and strike your very own coin. Handle rarely seen specimens from Bank of Scotland and use microscopes and ultra-violet lights to examine the design and security features of our currency.

Thursday 12 October at various times. Suitable for age 8+. Booking required.

(at time of writing, there were still spaced available on the 11:15, 14:14 and 15:30 time slots)

A great, fun day for all the family, with activities for all ages. Try on our vision shifting goggles to see how the world changes, discover how to measure muscle strength and balance with modern technology, play some fun games to learn about decision making, build and test your own wind turbine, and more!
