JoJo Gnome and the Shape Map

If you are looking for some early years fun with shapes then Jo Hall has a new story for you, ‘JoJo Gnome and The Shape Map’, made possible by Maths Week Scotland funding. This story is all about the little Scottish gnome going for a walk finding shapes outdoors, perfect for this year’s ‘Maths In Motion’ theme.
Jo has also been working with some Primary Schools around Scotland (Port Glasgow, Benderloch, Oban and Glasgow) to help them make their own shape stories. Jo started the shape story, and the pupils finished it with their own ideas and drawings. These short stories are a perfect Early Years resource. Join in the story fun by coming up with your own ending to these stories. Have a look at the films and see what you think.
There are also teacher’s notes for ‘JoJo Gnome & the Shape Map’. The notes will allow you to get the most from the story and extend the learning beyond maths into literacy and wellbeing. Visit JoJo Gnome’s number page and find out how to get your free copy of the notes.
Keep enjoying stories and maths!
