To Celebrate Maths Week Scotland, DYW Live has live webinars taking place on Wednesday 24th September. The theme for Maths Week Scotland 2025 is 'Wild Maths' Bringing nature and numbers together. Wild Maths will explore plants and wildlife, weather and natural forces, outdoor learning, and so much more!
Sessions will be 30 minutes and will be delivered via Microsoft Teams (Glow not required), and are aimed at learners in P5-P7 (Level 2).
9:45am - Using maths to discover nature
Join Ellie from Naturescot as she shows off their Nature Discover Map Scotland, how they use maths to create the map and how you can get involved to map the nature around your school.
11:45am - Maths at the Zoo?
Meet some of the Discovery and Learning Team as they explore our site and show you the amazing ways maths is used by teams at the Zoo every day - from feeds to enclosure design, from entrance to conservation - maths plays a huge role in creating a world where nature can be protected, valued and loved.
We will also have two fantastic pre recorded sessions suitable for secondary learners, to show at a time that fits into your timetable. (more details to follow soon)
Free but registration required. Please register via the link below. After registering you will be emailed a link where you can access the sessions. The linked webpage will contain an option for you to add the session to your calendar, or you can just click to join directly on the day at the correct time. Sessions will also be recorded and available on the webpage afterwards.
