The Hidden Herbarium

The Hidden Herbarium
Using maths and global citizenship to uncover the stories of preserving plants.
Did you know that in Edinburgh there is a room which contains over 3 million plants from all over the world? These plants are pressed and preserved by specialists who look after this collection for scientists in Scotland and around the world. Be an active global citizen and take part in activities to see what it’s like to work with plants at the Botanics and on collecting expeditions in other countries and learn how scientists decide if a plant has never been described by science before!
